Appendix G — Maintenance
The HS-21 and HS-41X require only a minimum of maintenance to operate.
Cleaning the HS-21 and HS-41X
The reader’s window should be kept clean and free of debris to ensure optimal performance.
Do not touch the window. If the window becomes dirty, clean it with a soft, non-abasive
cloth or a facial tissue (no lotions or additives) that has been moistened with water. A mild
detergent may be used to clean the window, but the window should then be wiped with a
water-moistened cloth or tissue after using the detergent.
The following agents can be used to clean the reader:
• Disposable disinfecting towelettes
• Bleach solution (10% bleach, 90% water)
