As Soon As Possible
End of Read Cycle
Note: See “End of Read Cycle Mode” on page 4-15 for options to end the read cycle.
Definition: Enabling As Soon As Possible causes symbol data to be sent to the
host immediately after a symbol has been successfully decoded.
Note: More than one decode might in fact be required to qualify as a
good decode, depending on how Decodes Before Output is set.
Usage: As Soon As Possible is useful in applications in which symbol data
needs to be moved quickly to the host, typically when the host is mak-
ing decisions based on symbol data.
Definition: Enabling End of Read Cycle means that symbol data does not get sent
to the host until the read cycle ends with a timeout or new trigger.
Usage: End of Read Cycle is useful in timing-based systems in which the host
is not ready to accept data at the time it is decoded.
